The Lower Black River Gorges, located at the entrance of the National Park at Black River is the latest release site of the Pink Pigeon (Nesoenas mayeri). Between the 5th November 2007 and end of December 2008, fortytwo juvenile and adult Pink Pigeons have been transferred from different sites within the park and released there, thus creating the sixth sub-population of the species. In May 2008, the first translocated birds started breeding at this site and made their first nesting attempts. On 16 September 2008, less than a year after the start of the releases, the Lower Black River Gorges celebrated its first on-site fledgling. The squab (pigeon chick) hatched on 1 September and the nest was monitored daily until the bird left the nest on the 16 September. The Pink Pigeon, named Menzeleen, was caught and ringed two and a half weeks later with the ID number 6A02603. Along with other fledglings from all over the National Park, Menzeleen brings the total count of Pink Pigeons in Mauritius to 393.

Seven Colours Energy Cuisine is a playful and delicious invitation that explores a range of cooking styles, products, colours and textures, and which plays with essential oils and edible floral waters, to awaken all the senses.
It is “haute cuisine” that is healthy and innovative, and was created by the Executive Chef at the Heritage Golf & Spa resort, Philippe Rozel, in collaboration with Valérie Cupillard, a culinary consultant specialised in the use of essential oils and organic agricultural products.
Seven Colours Energy Cuisine is more than just a restaurant: it is a culinary experience in which the interplay of flavours, the combinations of colours, the variety of textures and the stimulation of the senses are at the centre of things.

The means used to take the visitor on this journey has been carefully worked out and in addition to old documents on display, original tolls and equipment also form part of the décor. An old counter that was once in the post office of Curepipe takes the visitor back in time. The museum not only hinges on pure philately but also on the passionate lives of people who have been delivering good and bad news to the population through newspapers and mail. You will see the most common means of transport of the postman, still used today, the bicycle, on display along with the uniforms they used t o wear which have been mounted on manikins.
